Selective non-catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in the production of iron ore pellets

Purpose. Using mathematical modeling, to assess the feasibility of introducing a Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) system as measure reduce nitrogen oxide emissions from production iron ore pellets. To determine peculiarities using ammonia solution and urea reagents for SNCR process, influence injection these on temperature regime during pellet production, well expected efficiency method purification exhaust gases oxides. Methodology. The research results have been obtained CFD-modeling in ANSYS Fluent software package. model this computational domain is constructed, which corresponds size preheating zone (PRE zone) actual plant. Two series calculations are performed domain: first, without adding reagent, second, with reagent system. Findings. For first calculations, field pressure obtained. Experimental makes it possible assert that physical conditions close those at real plant In second determined, namely, decrease PRE by 1025 . reduction oxides 50% about 60%. Originality. It has revealed process evaporation intense, accelerates beginning decomposition and, accordingly, reaction drop moisture does not exceed C.
